Writing With Witches
A misty beech forest at first light, with a path leading between the trunks

New episode every Monday

Two authors.
Two witches.
One podcast.

Leona and Nicole write fantasy for a living and practise witchcraft for real. Every week they pull apart how books actually get made — plot, spice levels, print-on-demand, the lot — and throw in a little magic on the way.

Who you're listening to

One writes high fantasy, one writes dark. Between them they founded a publishing house, which explains why so many episodes end up being about contracts.

Leona Urbansky

Leona Urbansky

High fantasy — rich worlds, big casts

Author, IT technician, fiber artist and mother, all in one bundle of chaos. A landlocked witch in the middle of the States who keeps dreaming about the coast. She cosplays, rides horses, walks the dogs, and has been practising witchcraft and druidry for four or five years now — still learning.

Her debut, Fire Magic, opens the Death Gate Trilogy.

Nicole Autumn

Nicole Autumn

Dark fantasy — gritty, grounded, unapologetically spicy

Mom of three and wife to an active-duty Marine, so the family moves a lot — the current adventure is Virginia. She reads, writes and crafts constantly: knitting and crochet first, but also candle making, yarn dying, bookbinding, jewellery, sewing and cross-stitch. Coffee is essential and usually goes cold.

She writes the Secret Society series, beginning with The Order: Unbound.

Short stories

Between episodes we write. These are free to read, no signup.

We also run the press

Mythweaver Books is our publishing house — fantasy, paranormal, science fiction and dark romance. If an episode about cover design or distribution sounds oddly specific, this is why.
